First Communion

The most sublime of all of the sacraments is the Holy Eucharist because it contains the true body, blood, soul and divinity of the Word of God made man, Jesus Christ. For this reason, we carefully prepare ourselves to receive this Most Blessed Sacrament by ensuring that we are in the state of grace (not conscious of serious sin on our souls) and fasting for a minimum of one hour.

Children prepare for their First Holy Communion either through St Gerard’s Primary School or through the catechism classes offered after school on Tuesdays. Parents can contact the parish office for more information.
